Contemporary Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting a Manager/Director of Information Technology & Services for a Direct Hire position in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities of the Manager/Director of Information Technology & Services:

  • Provide infrastructure vision and problem anticipation/solving on an enterprise level.
  • Anticipate IT industry future directions and relating those changes to current and future infrastructure needs and projects.
  • Interface across several channels, acting as a visionary, to proactively assist in defining infrastructure direction.
  • Maintain continuous awareness of business, technical, architecture, and infrastructure issues and act as sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
  • Provide any level of project management for single or multiple projects.
  • Anticipate and resolve systems operations problems on an enterprise level.
  • Direct all local operational support teams providing 24x7x365 day production and application support for all IT production systems, including legacy systems.
  • Oversee performance, availability, reliability and security of all production systems and networks within assigned region.
  • Manage solutions in wide range of diverse production environments.
  • Workwith a broad range of leaders within and external to the enterprise.
  • Ensure development of operations support budget, resolving resource and schedule conflicts, and adherence to standards. 


Requirements of the Manager/Director of Information Technology & Services:

  • Proficient knowledge of information systems and network
  • Experience in creating and defining new architectural models and explaining complex problems or situations
  • Project planning and management skills, including ability to identify and assess risk to determine action
  • Comfort with making project decisions, monitoring progress, and reporting results
  • Ability to plan infrastructure requirements three to five years in advance and aid others in accomplishing annual goals
  • Thorough understanding of distributed systems architecture and comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines
  • Excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, PC workstations (configuration and connectivity), network file servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques
  • Ability to solve network server problems or network infrastructure issues and to manage the performance and capacity of a LAN and WAN environments
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large projects in a cross-functional environment
  • Experience in effectively communicating with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers
  • Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs
  • Good understanding of the enterprise business and business processes; knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships
  • Ability to anticipate user requirements and identify and resolve complex problems; strong customer service and communications skills
  • Familiarity with various operating systems available, with experience installation and administration of one or more operating systems
  • Ability to plan and manage day-to-day computer operations, systems and database administration, and network operations
  • Ability to conduct and prepare feasibility studies; develop client proposals, including estimates for costs, time, and resources; prepare statistical reports; complete cost/benefit analyses; and conduct business
  • Ability to assess internal and external communication practices, anticipate future network requirements, and research and analyze emerging technologies
  • Experience with router configuration (Cisco, Wellfleet)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of network provider services and understanding of network implementation principles, routing protocol options, and LAN/WAN principles, Firewalls, Internet Connectivity
  • Broad range of LAN, WAN and telecommunication knowledge/skills is desired, including from among the following


o   OS/applications: Windows NT/2003

o   Desktop: Windows NT, Windows 95/98, Microsoft Office Professional Suite

o   GroupWise, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Explorer, Visual Basic, PowerBuilder, C++, McAfee

o   Client/server: NT Server, NetWare, Oracle, Internet, intranet

o   Network: Frame relay, routers, hubs, bridges, Ethernet, TCP/IP, SNMP, gateways, LAN/WAN sniffers

o   WAN/LAN management suites: CIscoWorks, Optivity

o   Other: McAfee Systems Management, Microsoft Systems Management Server, Seagate Frye Utilities for Networks, Symantec Norton Network Series
