Our client company is a healthcare advocacy company that partners with businesses to produce personalized solutions for their employees. They have received outstanding consumer satisfaction ratings due to their focus on building relationships with members and helping develop new plans with them when any changes arise. 

Health Assistants are responsible for being the first and main point of contact for clients in regard to their health and health benefits. These direct-hire positions offer an annual salary of $40K!

Responsibilities of the Health Assistant include:

  • Making yourself available to communicate with clients, whether it be via phone, online, or face-to-face.
  • Tailoring your approach to each individual client and building strong working relationships with them.
  • Use technology and data to gain a better understanding of needs the client may not be voicing.
  • Uncovering important information that the client may not want to communicate and determining if there are any red flags.
  • Helping clients navigate the complex and confusing health care system.
  • Explaining clients’ benefit packages and care plans to them in a way that they can take appropriate action.
  • Helping clients find appropriate doctors/healthcare professionals.
  • Connecting clients with the right clinical resources (Clinician, Health Plan Disease Management, Health Plan Case Management).
  • Communicating with internal resources to help understand the client’s path and what steps they should take.
  • Helping clients comply with regular doctor visits and reduce and/or eliminate avoidable admits, ER usage, readmits, and helping them with anything medical related.
  • Working Monday through Friday between 8am and 8pm (after training).

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 3 to 5 years relevant experience in service-based environment 
  • Demonstrates high level of personal accountability
  • A good listener that is empathetic and wants to help clients
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Works well on a team and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
