An experienced Accounting Policy Manager is needed for a Full-time, Direct-hire position in Wilmington, DE!

The Accounting Policy Manager is responsible for setting and maintaining internal accounting policies and providing daily support to accounting and month-end close activities. Our client is looking for a candidate who is optimistic, self-motivated, adaptable, and a quick learner. Responsibilities of the Accounting Policy Manager include:

  • Developing and maintaining internal accounting policies for current/new company initiatives.
  • Evaluating all proposed transactions for accounting and reporting implications.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical accounting memos regarding current and upcoming accounting policies.
  • Providing accounting support for monthly transactions and month end close process.
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
  • Assisting in the preparation of materials for annual external audits.
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual corporate tax returns.

  • CPA required
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting setting
  • Experience performing research related to technical accounting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (pivot and lookup tables)
  • ERP systems experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly new systems
  • Strong problem-solving techniques and demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of multi-disciplined teams
  • SQL experience a plus
  • Tax experience a plus
  • Complete a candidate assessment to prove skills
