Purchasing Manager

Contemporary Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Purchasing Manager for a direct hire position in Wilmington,DE.

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for all duties relating to the ordering of materials, services and supplies for the Company. Under the direction of the Branch Manager, this role will include identifying suppliers, comparing prices, specifications, terms, inventory control and delivery to determine the optimum choice to utilize.

Responsibilities of Purchasing Manager:

  • Responsible for all phases of purchasing for high quality services and supplies.
  • Monitor and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, reliability, and distribution capabilities.
  • Manage all purchasing requirements per specific project need to develop and execute a strategy aligned within budget requirements
  • Must prepare, maintain and review purchasing records, produce management reports, track the status of requisitions, contracts and orders to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with accounting team on contractor charges, cost of orders, and code to appropriate accounts for final approval.
  • Aggressively evaluate and analyze purchasing trends to identify forecasting demand and
    minimize overall costs for the company
  • Coordinate and administer material returns, credits, and refusals process with proficient handling
  • Partner with project team to communicate any business development that might affect the company and make recommendations regarding those developments
  • Quickly resolve all purchasing, rental, pricing, and miscellaneous issues as they arise to support field personnel
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, timely delivery, and quality of materials
  • Review catalogs, industry periodicals, directories, trade journals, and Internet sites and
    consult with department personnel to locate goods and services.

Requirements of Purchasing Manager:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 -8 years of purchasing experience preferably in the electrical industry.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction products and terminology
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and purchasing software; Spectrum a plus.
  • Proven ability to negotiate prices while maintaining positive vendor relationships
