Cash Application Analyst

Contemporary Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting Cash Application Analysts for Contract to Hire positions in Philadelphia, PA.

Responsibilities of the Cash Application Analyst:

  • Correctly execute the tasks and procedures related to the input of premium cash payments into the PeopleSoft AR system and CATS system.
  • Ensure that client account numbers and dollars are entered correctly.
  • Perform required cross-checks to ensure quality and integrity of data entered.
  • Maintain the required throughput and accuracy to maintain minimum goals and standards.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are utilized as well as adhere to controls.
  • Utilize various system interfaces to research payments received in-house or presented via bank imaging tools.
  • Using established procedures, properly identify the client submitting the payment and verify the dollar amounts being paid.
  • Understand the time constraints and deadlines associated with payment research and application and ensure that all daily goals are met.
  • Complete batching and prepping of incoming mail to include premium and non-premium.
  • Conduct cursory review of all incoming checks to ensure relevant information is available for processing.
  • Answer inquiries associated with payment misapplication.
  • Provide suggestions related to process improvement as appropriate.
  • Perform other assignments as business needs require.
  • Will participate in projects as needed. 

Requirements of the Cash Application Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities as business needs require.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw logical conclusions as to root cause.
  • Must be able to function in a quick-paced environment, where emphasis is placed on accuracy and throughput.
  • Must have strong emphasis to details.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Having knowledge of Web based application and having PeopleSoft experience would be a plus.
  • Minimum 2-3 years working within a Cash, Billing, Finance or Operations Departments
  • Cash experience in a Healthcare / Insurance Industry preferred
