Contemporary Staffing Solutions is currently recruiting Audit Managers for Direct Hire positions in Newark, DE.

The Audit Manager reports to the Director of Internal Audit and is responsible for managing the internal audit assignments and staff. Management includes: 1) assisting the Director of Internal Audit in planning audit assignments and scheduling the appropriate staff based on the audit risk and staff experience, 2) reviewing staff work to ensure audit objectives were achieved by providing expertise in auditing standards and requirements, 3) training audit staff to perform audit procedures and prepare audit reports using advanced writing skills.  This individual will work closely with management from various business units to provide internal audit support and to facilitate the implementation of process improvements. In addition, the individual will communicate on audit and internal control matters to senior management.

Responsibilities of the Audit Manager:

  • Assist the Director of Internal Audit in the preparation of the annual risk assessment.
  • Assist in preparation of the annual audit plan by prioritizing high risk areas of the Company.
  • Manage operational audits, Sarbanes-Oxley testing, and special projects, such as system conversions or due diligence assignments, to ensure objectives are achieved.
  • Plan, assign and supervise the daily activity and work of staff auditors.
  • Develop and maintain relationships among audit staff and business unit management.
  • Prepare audit procedures, programs and staffing schedules for achieving audit objectives and goals.
  • Review audit work for completeness, accuracy and compliance with internal audit standards and company policy.
  • Oversee audit progress using project management tools to ensure prompt issuance of audit report.
  • Complete advanced auditing assignments and special projects requiring analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Present clearly written audit reports to business unit and senior management.
  • Work with audit staff and management to identify value added audit recommendations for the audit reports.
  • Communicate to department personnel any changes in professional standards, pronouncements, laws, guidelines and audit requirements.
  • Identify high risk processes in the company and prioritize the process in the audit universe.
  • Attend, present and/or participate in continuing professional education classes and training courses.

Requirements of the Audit Manager:

  • Minimum eight years of experience in accounting or auditing, including supervisory experience in the field.
  • CPA and/or CIA.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with people at all levels of the company.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
